Legislation 101: Helping MFTs Navigate the Texas State Legislature

Details:

In the following webinar, Tris Castañeda, Jr., of Longbow Partners and lobbyist for TAMFT, will demystify the mysteries of the legislative process. We will review specific codes that pertain to our licensure and legislative agenda, including past bills we’ve supported that have helped protect our ability to practice in Texas.

You’ll learn:

  • What happens during the legislation process
  • What the Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC) is, and why it was created
  • Review the legislative agenda for the upcoming session
  • How to prepare for Day at the Dome

You’ll get a better understanding of the different stages of bill development, how to build meaningful relationships with state legislators, and how to effectively advocate for your practice through Family PAC.
