Identifying and Serving Survivors of Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is a serious human rights violation. Survivors of human trafficking often experience physical, emotional, and psychological trauma that can have lasting effects on their mental health and relationship quality. MFTs are in a unique position to identify and serve survivors of human trafficking because they often work with clients who are experiencing relationship difficulties or family conflict, which can be factors that contribute to trafficking. By understanding the unique needs of survivors of human trafficking, MFTs can provide trauma-informed care sensitive to the complex and often challenging experiences of these individuals, couples, and families in their journey toward healing and recovery. This interactive webinar will enhance the capacity of providers to identify and support survivors of human trafficking or those clients identified as high-risk.
