Using Respect-Focused Therapy With Marginalized and Underserved Clients

Respect-Focused Therapy is an approach to therapy developed by Susanne Slay-Westbrook that maintains that respect for the client is not only polite and ethical, but it is more significantly a healing agent for positive change. This is especially true for those traumatized and marginalized by social inequity and injustice. Often these populations (i.e. ethnic minorities, persons who are LGBTQ and persons with disabilities) are also underserved due to income inequity and discrimination.

In this presentation, Susanne Slay-Westbrook explain the general tenets of RFT as well as specifically targeting these groups mentioned above. The deeply focused respect in the therapeutic relationship and process allows for more genuine restorative growth. This webinar will include a presentation and Q&A session
