About the Webinar:
Virginia Satir (known as the Mother of Family Therapy) believed that the "problem" or “presenting issue" itself was seldom the real problem; rather, how people coped with the problem created the problem. As we enter what will be a tumultuous political season, relationships will suffer. The problem is not that families and friends disagree about issues of policy, rather, they will suffer because of how they cope while in those conversations. This workshop explores a Satir approach to remaining regulated during difficult conversations. Satir’s Iceberg Metaphor, Coping Stances, and Self- Esteem Maintenance will be discussed.
